SITE NEWS -
First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know it's been a while since I did anything with Abundant Skies, but I'm happy to say I'm back and better than ever! I've been picking up some new techniques and working to apply them.
We also have a new LAYOUT!!!! This is particularly exciting for me, because it's the first layout change Abundant Skies has seen! I made it myself using pictures that have been featured in my graphics over the months!
heh, I forgot about the tagboard, so I'll get that tomorrow.

I'm very sorry I haven't added an update for a while. I've been super busy with school and such! Check below to see a bunch of graphics - that's my way of making up for being gone so much!
Also, I'm working on a whole other site. It isn't related to Switchfoot, but it is dedicated to the NBC hit show, Chuck. Right now, I just have the layout finished, but it looks SO RAD! Check it out here.

Claire, part of the AS staff, has volunteered her time into helping start another new Switchfoot site - Park Place And Boardwalk! It's part of the AS team, and it's dedicated to the music of Switchfoot. Claire will work on bringing you the newest Switchfoot music! PPAB hasn't been updated yet, but we'll start to add content as soon as possible. We''ll keep you updated on the progress of this new SF site!

The Switchfoot Studio Webcam is finally posted on Abundant Skies! Beings that the Music Builds Tour has sadly come to an end, the guys have put all their efforts into producing their new CD - coming out in Spring of next year. Whenever Switchfoot records, they turn on the Switchfoot webcam - so viewers can check out what they're up to. Now you can view the webcam on Abundant Skies!

SITE NEWS -
Since I posted a link on the Switchfoot official boards, Abundant Skies' views have skyrocketed! In total, Abundant Skies now has 75,000 views! That's pretty impressive considering we have only been on the net for a month.
That reminds me, this very day is the ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY of Abundnt Skies! Let's celebrate with some graphics!

I think this photo is simply awesome. Whenever I hear "The Beautiful Letdown", I think of something like this picture - lonely souls walking on a vast and plain land.

We recieved some more AWESOME pics from our friends Jessamine and Emily. I really appreciate you guys sending in the pictures; it helps me know what pictures the visitors like, and it saves me time trying to find some Switchfoot pics. Remember, if you would like to send in some awesome Switchfoot photos (they don't have to be taken by you) just send us an e-mail.

So I was updating the slideshow yesterday, when I saw these AMAZING photos. I immediately saved them onto my computer and started making graphics. It was just today that I finished making them. I had SO much fun creating this update because I recently got new textures (you can see them in the siggys) and, of course, the pics were wonderful.

First of all, I am very excited to present to you 2 new affiliates! These sites are both awesome, and I encourage you to check them out. These new sites are We're Awakening and Kerosene and Electric Spark.
In other news, we're desperately in need of pictures. We need good Switchfoot concert pics to make our graphics from. Without pictures, the graphics are worthless. As some of you may know, this is only our second week that Abundant Skies has been on the web. Calls for a celebration, doesn't it? We're starting the party by bringing you our 10th update of Switchfoot graphics. More and more concert pics are pouring into our e-mail, and we want you to keep it up! We love getting new images. Remember, if you would like to send in a Switchfoot picture (whether it is yours or not) to get made into graphics, please e-mail us. We might not use all pictures we recieve, but there's a good chance your pic will be used for graphics.

Our 10th update is a record breaking one with 43 AVATARS! Can you believe it! We just got so caught up in the graphic-making mood we went above and beyond. It's probably a good thing, because all these avatars make up for the last rather small update and the lack of updates lately. Abundant Skies is recently featured on Land Of Broken Hearts! Our good friend, Jeanna, from the site asked me if I would like to feature one of my graphics each week along with the photo and video of the week. I immediately was on board. You can check out the graphic of the week in LOBH's latest update.
Also, we would LOVE to hear from you! You can contact us HERE. Leave a suggestion, compliment, basic comment, anything! Also, we encourage you to send in your own graphic work. Next week we are going to start a new section called 'Featured Graphics', which feature graphics made from visitors of the site. Please e-mail us with the graphic you would like to be featured.

SITE NEWS -
The entries have been made, the judging has took place, and now it's finally time to announce the new staff memeber for Abundant Skies. Out of 10 entrants who participated, I decided to choose Claire for a staff member. Her graphics are flawless and detailed, and she has a great personality. You can see the first graphics she made for Abundant Skies HERE.
Also, Claire and I are working on a new Switchfoot fansite. We're not sure on all the details yet, but the main idea behind the new site is to make a Switchfoot music blog. We'll post rare recordings, remixes, basically any Switchfoot song out there. More info on that to come!

Along with Claire's album (link above), I did some serious work on SF concert pics - especially with one photographer in the spotlight - susieq3c. She's my all time favorite Switchfoot photographer, and it was an honor to make graphics out of her work. Also, we're up to 130 avatars and 50 signatures. How cool is that?!

In attempt to attract more traffic to the site, Abundant Skies is going to be applying for affiliates to some Switchfoot fansite. If you run a SF fansite and would like to affiliate yours with Abundant Skies, please send an e-mail. Also, there is some VERY exciting site news! We are going to start a WEEKLY PRIZE GIVEAWAY, which includes 20 avatars and 5 signatures courtesy of Abundant Skies. All you have to do is send an e-mail to us with a rad switchfoot picture (it doesn't matter if you took it or not) and whoever sends in the best picture wins the prize! We'll make these graphics out of picture that you have; so pick a photo that you would want graphics made out of.

Abundant Skies has been chosen to be a top affiliate for our favorite Switchfoot fansite, Land Of Broken Hearts!
In other site news, staff applicants have been pouring in. I've now decided to stop accepting applications and decide within the people who already entered. Whoever I choose will be elected to be a 'Graphic Donor', which mean they e-mail graphics to me on a regular basis and I post their graphics on Abundant Skies.
Last piece of site news - thanks to all of you wonderful folks, Abundant Skies has reached 5,000 views already! Keep in mind that Abundant Skies has only been open for 4 days. That must be some sort of record!

The LOBH webmaster, Jeanna, posted some newly edited photos, so I quickly opened up photoshop to make some graphics with her amazing photos! Her pictures are so clear and vibrant; I hardly had to do anything with the colors to make it look like what I wanted.

a new switchfoot fansite is up!

This site will be a dedication to Switchfoot and all their talent. I'll be posting graphic art (avatars, wallpapers, etc.) and I plan on opening up a submissions feature later on. But for right now, I'll just get some graphics up so you all could get a feel of my graphics.
